WR Julio Jones announced his retirement.
Jones finished his 13-year professional career with 914 receptions, 13,703 yards, and 66 touchdowns. He spent the first 10 years of his illustrious career with the Falcons before playing one year each with the Titans, Buccaneers, and Eagles, having gone over 1,000 yards receiving seven times while setting a career high in 2015 with 1,871 yards in a 16-game season. There aren’t many sure thing first-ballot Hall of Fame wide receivers in the present game, but Jones certainly did his part on the field to warrant significant consideration once eligible.
Eagles WR Julio Jones (concussion) will not return to Wildcard Round against the Buccaneers.
Jones was shaken up on a reception towards the end of the second quarter. He was evaluated during the half and subsequently ruled out. His night ends with three receptions for 22 yards.
Julio Jones caught 2-of-2 targets for 34 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ Week 17 loss to the Cardinals.
It was about the most random pop-up game imaginable for a player who entered the proceedings with seven catches in nine games. We always love to see Julio Jones thrive, but there is nothing projectable about this outing ... is what we wrote before we knew DeVonta Smith injured his foot. Jones could be needed for more targets than usual in Week 18 against the Giants. He’ll probably still end up a money sink in DFS.
Julio Jones caught both targets for five yards in the Eagles’ Week 11 win over the Chiefs.
Jones continued in a modest snap rate role for the Eagles, sharing WR3 duties with Olamide Zaccheaus against the Chiefs. He’ll need to find the end zone in order to return any semblance of fantasy utility moving forward.
