William Moore
Player News
William Moore worked out for the Patriots on Wednesday.
Moore was released by the Falcons early in the offseason so teams haven't exactly raced to sign him. He played in 11 games last season and recorded 51 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Falcons announced the release of S William Moore and LB Justin Durant.
An injury-prone over-30 DB anyone? The Falcons certainly answered no as Moore has missed 29 games over the past five years and was owed better than six million this season. Moore has some ability left but certainly not that of a starting safety and will now have to go find work elsewhere along with his now former teammate Justin Durant. Atlanta was remaking their defense in 2015 and will look to continue that work heading into 2016.
Falcons placed William Moore (ankle) on Injured Reserve, ending his season.
It's fair to call Moore injury-prone at this point given that he has only managed to play more than 12 games once in the past five years. This is certainly a blow to the Falcons defense as he is one of the best defenders they have in the back of the formation but they will now have to lineup Kemal Ishmael or Robenson Therezie at the strong safety spot the rest of the way.
William Moore return is questionable with an ankle injury.
Moore suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of the game against the Bucs and is questionable to return at this point. In his absence, Kemal Ishmael will likely see more playing time Sunday.
