With the Bucs now in the playoff picture in the NFC, they need some depth in the secondary. Wright was cut during camp at the 75-man roster cut down and has been unemployed since. He won't be a factor in the defense on a regular basis; just a cover for injuries.

Veteran safety Major Wright was one of 12 cuts made by the Bucs on Sunday. Since he has veteran status within the league he will not go through the waiver process.
