Panthers released FS Stevie Brown Friday.
He is being released after signing with the team just two days ago. He was brought in to provide depth at the safety position for that game, presumably due to the rash of injuries the team has suffered.
Stevie Brown is being worked out by the Panthers Friday.
He'll join fellow free agent safety Donte Whitner in the workout. Brown was released on Wednesday but should find work soon.

Stevie Brown had a nice season with the Giants once upon a time, but that moment has passed. The league has exposed his limited athleticism and he will have trouble holding on to a roster spot going forward in his career.

Since putting together an excellent IDP season in 2012 with 8 interceptions and 76 total tackles he has fallen off as an IDP option. Brown comes over from the Raiders and will help out an already solid Kansas City secondary who ranked ninth in total yards allowed and second in picks with 22. He has no fantasy value at this point.
