Anderson was hired by the Bengals as an assistant wide receivers coach Monday, indicating his retirement as a player, Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Anderson last played during the 2017 season when he suited up in five games for the Bills and recorded three tackles. The 34-year-old will aim to help the Bengals' rebuild.

Buffalo is currently holding on to a 7-point lead in the 4th quarter with 10 minutes to play. Anderson's presence in the secondary is much needed at this point given that Los Angeles will likely resort to throwing the ball more.

Colt Anderson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 3.

He engaged in limited practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was held out of practice entirely on Friday. As the number three option on the depth chart chart at free safety he is not much of a fantasy asset even when playing.

Colt Anderson (foot) did not participate in Monday's practice.

Anderson had 17 tackles in 14 games last season, and he is buried on Buffalo's depth chart for a reason. He will add some depth when he is healthy, but this is merely a blip on the radar.
