Danieal Manning
Player News
Former Texans defensive back/returner Danieal Manning retires from the NFL.
Manning had a nine year NFL career with both the Bears and Texans after being drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft. The 32-year old only received minor interest this off-season given that he has only 11 career interceptions and only played 16 games twice. Manning did however last more than twice as long as the average NFL player which is something worth noting.
Danieal Manning (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game.
Consider Manning day-to-day and a game-time decision here. If he\'s out, he\'ll be missed on the kick-off return team and in nickel packages in the secondary. There are plenty of options on the kick returning side, but the Texans will have to turn to Josh Aubrey in the secondary.
Danieal Manning will start for D.J. Swearinger on Sunday.
This isn\'t shocking news as Manning has played a key role for the Texans defense, even though he has only started in one game for them this season.
Texans are expected to sign S Danieal Manning, pending physical.
Manning will join his former team after he was cut by the Bengals Saturday.
