Donte Whitner

Whitner managed to play in 11 games for the Redskins, totalling 49 tackles and one forced fumble. Considering he is on a one-year contract, he is going to have to prove he can still get the job done at the age of 32 come next season if he wants to stay in the league.

Whitner has total 66 tackles for the Redskins this season but he will be sitting out against the Giants in Week 17 in a game that the Redskins need to win if they hope to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Whitner appeared in 14 games for the Browns in 2015 and totaled 81 tackles with 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He is a former Pro Bowler who had his best season back in 2010 with the Bills when he totaled 140 tackles and two interceptions.

No one has really had an interest in Whiter late August but the Giants worked him out last week but did not end up signing him. The 31-year-old Whitner struggled with the Browns last year but the Redskins have been losing defensive backs left and right over the past two weeks. They could really use some veteran help.
