George Iloka
Player News
Vikings DB George Iloka tore his ACL during Wednesday's practice.
He's been placed on injured reserve. Iloka, 30, was out of the league in 2019 before signing on with the Vikings in August. His knee injury is more bad news for a Vikings defense getting boat raced on the regular in 2020.
Free agent George Iloka worked out for the Vikings.
30-year-old Illoka spent last season out of the league. He was with the Vikings in 2018, playing just 11 percent of snaps. Illoka would be a depth signing that can contribute on special teams.
Iloka (shoulder) was released by the Cowboys on Friday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Iloka finds himself a free agent after training camp for a second straight year. He appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings last year, serving as a backup safety. He could see some interest from teams seeking a veteran safety presence or those facing injuries at the position.
George Iloka suffered a shoulder injury against the Patriots on Sunday.
Iloka suffered the injury after getting trucked by Patriots running back LaGerrette Blount. He was knocked to the ground and held his shoulder after the play, and then was taken to the sideline to be evaluated. He missed practice time earlier this week with an injury to the same shoulder, so this may have been an aggravation.
