Jets released Dee Milliner with an injury settlement.
Milliner was a total disaster for the Jets after they drafted him to replace Darrell Revis. Injuries and inconsistent play marred Milliner's career and is what ultimately ended his time in New York.
Jets released Dee Milliner on Saturday.
Milliner was selected by the Jets with the 9th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and was hyped to be the guy that would replace Darrelle Revis after the latter was traded to Tampa Bay. Milliner failed to stay healthy, and even when he was good to go he just couldn't live up to expectations. As his playing time decreased the past few years so did the patience of the coaching staff. Milliner could still get a chance with another organization given his young age.
Jets are trying to trade Dee Milliner.
It appears that NY Jets former first round pick, CB Dee Milliner, who has been unimpressive in his time in the league, has continued to disappoint through preseason. On Saturday, just hours before the final rosters needed to be in, the Jets were shopping Milliner around, trying to find a possible trade. If one isn't found, NY will likely waive him.
Dee Milliner left Friday's game with an arm injury and is questionable to return.
Milliner has been marred by injuries over the past couple of years, so the last thing he or the Jets want to develop is yet another significant health issue. The team will understandably take no risks with the fourth-year cornerback.
