Tim Jennings
Player News
Veteran cornerback Tim Jennings, cut by Buccaneers on Monday, has cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
Jennings is best remembered for when he had nine interceptions in 2012 as a member of the Chicago Bears. The two-time Pro Bowler had played in six games this season, starting three of them, and he only had 12 tackles and five assisted tackles. His name value should lead to him landing on a team's practice squad in the next few weeks; at worst.
Buccaneers cut CB Tim Jennings.
This is Jennings 10th year in the league and it may be his last. Jennings hasn't been very good in 2015-'16 and his release backs that up. He can only hope to catch on with another team.
GM Jason Licht announces that the Buccaneers have signed CB Tim Jennings.
The Buccaneers needed some depth at cornerback and brought Jennings into the fold on Thursday. The Bears recently released the veteran cornerback, but he has now been reunited with his former head coach Lovie Smith. Jennings will play in a reserve role to start, but could find himself as a starter deeper into the season.
Former bears CB Tim Jennings is in Tampa visiting the Buccaneers Tuesday.
Jennings is a popular name after being cut from Chicago earlier this week. He will look to link up with former head coach Lovie Smith in Tampa Bay.
