Munnerlyn was cut by Buffalo on Saturday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Munnerlyn has experience with the current Buffalo brass dating back to his Carolina days, but the team decided to go with younger players that offer more versatility.
Munnerlyn has been signed by the Bills.
The Bills were forced to put veteran corner EJ Gaines on injured reserve Saturday, so team brass -- a good majority of the coaching and management staff has ties to the Carolina organization -- felt most comfortable signing a familiar face in Munnerlyn to take the roster spot. Munnerlyn has spent seven of his 10 NFL seasons with the Panthers, but now he'll join fellow Panthers veteran Kurt Coleman to try and round out some depth in the Buffalo secondary this season.
Munnerlyn signed a four-year contract with the Panthers on Saturday.
Captain Munnerlyn (ankle) is practicing Tuesday.
The ankle that made Munnerlyn miss Week 10 seems to be healed. A good sign that he is practicing so early in the week. The Vikings get the Cowboys on Thursday night football so having a fully healthy defense is critical in stopping the best team in the NFL
