Jeremy Lane
Player News
Jeremy Lane will compete with DeShawn Shead to start at right cornerback.
The second cornerback position, opposite Richard Sherman, is one that appears will be a battle all throughout camp and has been a hole for Seattle since the exit of Byron Maxwell after the 2014 season. Jeremy Lane is a versatile DB who can play slot in nickel packages while Shead is a 2012 undrafted free agent out of Portland State. Shead has experience with Seatle at corner and safety and has drawn comparisons to Brandon Browner with his 6-foot 2, 212 pound frame. It will be interesting to see how this battle unfolds as Seattle will likely go with the best matchup.
Seahawks have re-signed corner back Jeremy Lane.
Lane appeared in only six games last season, but recorded 13 tackles and two picks during that time. He will be a producer in the secondary again in 2016.
Seahawks activated Jeremy Lane from the PUP list Saturday.
Lane will provide depth at cornerback behind Richard Sherman. He was placed on the PUP list following the tear of his ACL and the compound fracture to his arm in the last Superbowl game against the Patriots.
Coach Pete Carroll said Jeremy Lane will return Week 12.
Jeremy Lane has missed the entire season after breaking his arm and tearing a ligament in his knee during last seasons Super Bowl. According to head coach Pete Carroll, he'll be activated off of the physically-unable-to-perform list and be ready to go against the Steelers in Week 12.
