Adam Jones
Player News
Jones officially retired from the NFL on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Jones' most recent NFL action came in the form of seven games with the Broncos, where he logged nine tackles and an interception before being let go after Week 11. "Pacman" will -- of course -- be most remembered for his time with the Bengals. Jones started in 68 of 100 games and racked up 366 total tackles, 12 interceptions and 64 pass breakups. The 14-year-pro's career will likely also remind fans of his problems off the field, including the most recent incident where Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, intimidation and resisting arrest at a casino in Indiana in late February.
Jones (thigh) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Jones missed Denver's last three games with a thigh injury, but since the 35-year-old was able to practice in full Wednesday, he should be ready to go against the Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday. He has nine tackles and one interception on the year.
Jones (groin) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Jim Owczarski of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Jones suffered the injury while recording his first interception of the season in last week's loss to the Steelers. The 34-year-old will finish his eleventh season with 23 tackles (19 solo), four passes defended, and one pick. Williams Jackson III will presumably replace him at cornerback.
Court case involving Adam Jones has been put on hold until next month while the judge waits to hear on the NFL's punishment.
Jones is facing several different charges related to his arrest at a Cincinnati hotel earlier this month. Jones has dealt with off-field issues in the past, leading to suspensions in 2007 and 2008. He has largely cleaned up his act and remained a consistent contributor on the field for the Bengals since 2010, so this has obviously been a troubling development.
