Melvin White was released by the Vikings Thursday.
White has dealt with injuries this preseason and has not played in an NFL game since 2014 with the Panthers. The 26-year-old corner will try to catch on with another team prior to the start of the regular season.
The Vikings have signed CB Melvin White to a futures contract.
White was the odd-man out in Carolina this year after the emergence of Josh Norman and the signing of Chris Tillman. He was eventually released in September and no one picked him up the rest of the way. He'll get a look in Minnesota during their offseason program, but he is not likely to make a tremendous impact.
Rams decided not to re-sign CB Melvin White, his contract expired and he's now a free-agent.
A ton of cuts are happening as contracts expire. White will move on and try to find a new home for his defensive skills, but he is not an elite cornerback and should not be on your IDP radar.
Rams add CBs Brandon McGee and Melvin White to the practice squad.
White has NFL experience, but not NFL talent. He'll labor on the practice squad unless injuries occur.
