DeAngelo Hall

Hall served as the Panthers’ assistant DB coach over the last two seasons, marking his entry into the NFL coaching ranks. Per The Athletic’s Ben Standig, Hall’s odds of getting the job sound “promising.”

Hall had interviewed with the Raiders a few years ago after his retirement, but had been doing TV with the NFL Network the last few years. Hall played with the Falcons, Raiders, and Commanders during a 14-year playing career. Frank Reich and Scott Fitterer have been adding a lot of talented and smart voices to the coaching staff this offseason. This will be Hall's first coaching job at any level. 

The Redskins got beat up on Sunday in their win over the Giants. Washington is still waiting for further diagnosis on starting cornerback Bashaud Breeland as well as offensive linemen Shawn Lauvao and Kory Lichtensteiger. DeAngelo Hall is just the first results to come available because he himself confirmed it with the media. The Redskins will be juggled a lot this week especially if they lose Breeland as well. Veteran Will Blackmon stepped up and played well for Breeland. Duke Ihenacho and Deshazor Everett will be called upon to pick up the slack for Hall. We should also expect the Redskins to give more playing time to their rookie Su'a Cravens, who had the game winning interception of Eli Manning to seal the Redskins victory on Sunday.

In what will be a long line of Monday morning injury reports, Hall is on the list. ACL tears are never a good thing, and usually end seasons. Will Blackmon will likely benefit from some extra snaps in Halls absence.
