David Amerson
Player News
Amerson was released by the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
With 61 NFL starts to Amerson's name and the looming six-game suspension of starting cornerback Patrick Peterson, this move comes as a bit of a surprise. The 27-year-old nonetheless heads to the free-agent market on the heels of a 2018 campaign in which he accrued 21 tackles, two pass breakups and one pick in six games. Amerson should have a decent market for his services.
David Amerson (knee) is inactive against the Panthers on Sunday.
DJ Hayden will start in place of Amerson at CB for the Raiders against the Panthers. Hayden should be able to fill in fine, and keep this loss minimal.
David Amerson (knee) did not practice on Thursday.
Amerson is missing practice again on Thursday with the pesky knee injury and now he is squarely in the questionable category for Sunday's game for the Raiders. Oakland still needs all the help they can get in the secondary right now and this certainly won't help. Friday will hold the key for him getting back on the field in Week 12.
David Amerson remains in the NFL's concussion protocol.
The Raiders feel that Amerson will be able to play Sunday, and with their secondary struggling, he is much needed. He could impact their team DEF in a positive way if he suits up, as well as being worth a look in IDP leagues that start corners.
