The 34-year-old will continue to train and is open to returning to the field as a player, but should the opportunity not come, Sherman will head into an analyst role for pregame, halftime, and postgame duties. Bucs activated CB Richard Sherman (calf) from injured reserve.
Sherman missed the last four weeks with a grade 2 calf strain. He's expected to play limited snaps if active against Buffalo on Sunday. With Jordan Whitehead sidelined and Mike Edwards suspended, the Bucs could look to get Sherman some reps at safety down the stretch.
