Charles Godfrey has re-signed with the Falcons.
Godfrey signs a one-year, $965,000 dollar contract to play in Atlanta for the 2015-16 season. He was not exactly a mainstay on the Falcons 53-man roster, appearing only eight games. Godfrey hopes to find a reserve role or on special teams.
The Falcons have released Charles Godfrey.
A roster spot needed to be cleared for the addition of Philip Wheeler to the Falcons linebacking core. Falcons re-signed safety Charles Godfrey.
Godfrey was cut after Week 1, but finds himself back in a Falcons jersey. A seven-year veteran, Godfrey should fill in in the secondary until Ricardo Allen is able to return.
Falcons have released Charles Godfrey.
Godfrey was thought to be a candidate to start at free safety for the Falcons early this off-season but based on what William Moore and Ricardo Allen showed on Monday Night Football against a tough offense, they seem to be solid at the safety spot under Dan Quinn's new defensive scheme. Godfrey was signed off the street in the middle of last season by Atlanta so it's possible he could take a while to catch on somewhere else.
