Chris Johnson
Player News
Chris Johnson said he plans to play next season.
Johnson managed to playing only four games this season, totaling 95 yards and one touchdown on 25 rushing attempts. If he does in fact play next season it will likely be with another team , unless the Cardinals decide to bring him back for another season, considering he will turn 32 next season.
Chris Johnson (groin) will not come off the injured reserve list.
Johnson underwent hernia surgery in October and the hope was he would return at some point, but the Cardinals are content with their running back depth. Andre Ellington remains the handcuff for David Johnson.
Cardinals placed RB Chris Johnson (groin) on Injured Reserve.
Johnson hurt his groin in Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Rams and now will miss at least the next eight games. Johnson has carried the ball 25 times for 95 yards and a score in the first four games, with the biggest game coming in Week 2 which accounted for 16 carries and 54 yards plus the TD. Kerwynn Williams has been re-signed to take his roster spot but David Johnson should continue to get the lions share of the carries.
Chris Johnson (groin) did not practice on Monday.
After leaving Sunday's game, this comes as no surprise. Johnson is averaging just over six carries per game as David Johnson's backup and that's elevated because of the amount of work he got in a blowout win against Tampa Bay. Johnson is nothing more than a backup these days so he could come back sooner than expected since he's not taking on so much of the offenses burden. All they need him for his short spurts. Check back later in the week on how he's doing and if he's returned to practice.
