Lamar Miller
Player News
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports the Dolphins are working out free agent RB Lamar Miller.
With Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, and Phillip Lindsay all on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Dolphins currently have no running backs on their active roster. Gerrid Doaks and Duke Johnson will both get called up from the practice squad if the Miami backs aren't activated soon. Miller has appeared in one game over the past two and a half seasons, logging a pair of receptions for Chicago last year. He would land behind Johnson and Doaks on the depth chart if he signs.
Saints signed RB Lamar Miller.
Miller, 30, will join the team's practice squad a couple weeks after they lost Tony Jones to an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for about a month. Dwayne Washington looks like Alvin Kamara's direct backup with Jones out. Miller is a long was from fantasy relevance.
Washington released RB Lamar Miller
Miller lasted one preseason game, totaling 24 yards on six touches with a touchdown against the Patriots last week. The release saves just $850K, but opens up more snaps for rookie Jaret Patterson. Miller played in only one game last year and has been limited to 15 appearances since 2018. The 30-year-old will look to sign with another team before Week 1.
Washington re-signed RB Lamar Miller to a one-year contract.
The Football Team acquired Miller from the Bears' practice squad late last season. Miller, who will be 30 in August, hasn't seen extensive usage since 2018. He suffered a horrific knee injury in the 2019 preseason and has since bounced around the league. He caught two passes for the Bears in 2020 and didn't see a touch for Washington. The veteran will be buried on the team's depth chart to start the season.
