Daryl Richardson
Player News
Daryl Richardson has been released by the Steelers.
Richardson was signed by the Steelers early in 2016 and was released by the team back in September, and it seems as though the team has cut ties with the running back again today. Some Christmas present, huh? The 26-year-old appears to be nearing the end of his rope for his NFL career, having carried the ball just two times this season after not appearing in an NFL game for over two seasons. At this point it would be surprising if Richardson latches on with a team before mini camps start up for the 2017 season.
Steelers promoted RB Daryl Richardson to their active roster.
The Steelers released Richardson after Week 4, but signed him to the practice squad shortly thereafter. With DeAngelo Williams set to miss some time, Pittsburgh will need some depth at the RB position. Richardson is slated to be the #3 RB in Pittsburgh behind Bell and Toussaint so the move doesn't offer much for fantasy purposes.
Steelers have signed RB Daryl Richardson to their practice squad.
Richardson was released by the Steelers last week once Le'Veon Bell returned from suspension and he will now join the practice squad. He'll likely be there barring an injury or if the current third string running back, Fitzgerald Toussaint falls out of favor with Head Coach Mike Tomlin.
Steelers cut RB Daryl Richardson.
Richardson was the Steelers third string running back for the first three weeks of the season, but now is no longer needed in that role. Le'Veon Bell is back from his early season suspension thus regaining his spot at the top of the depth chart. De'Angelo Williams will be the heavily used backup and Fitzgerald Touissant will slide down to the third string role. Richardson will now have to try and catch on with another squad after seeing just five total snaps in the Steel City.
