Saints placed RB Kendall Hunter on injured reserve.
After barely being part of the Saints offense, Hunter has landed on injured reserve just two days before the final game of the year. Hunter ended his 2015-'16 campaign with only one carry for two yards.
Saints signed free agent RB Kendall Hunter.
The Saints are looking for depth at running back and decided to give Hunter a shot. Hunter is a former 49er that was injured during much of his stay with the team. It's likely that Hunter will be part of New Orleans special teams unit and get an occasional touch out of the backfield.
Jets tried out RB Kendall Hunter, TE Rob Housler and DL Tim Jamison on Tuesday.
Surprisingly, Hunter is only 27-years-old even though he has not played in a NFL game since 2013. In four seasons with the 49ers (2011-2014), he played in 43 games and he had 262 carries for 1202 yards along with 27 catches for 268 yards and seven total touchdowns. The Jets are most likely scouting to see if Hunter could be productive on their team. It is unknown at this time how much interest the Jets have in signing him. If he is signed, he would be signed to their practice squad. He has no fantasy value.
The Patriots worked out Kendall Hunter on Friday.
After tearing his ACL in 2014, Hunter is fully recovered and ready to find a team. He's been a career backup with explosive play ability. He's had three team workouts this past week, including the Pats workout on Friday.
