Marcus Lattimore has informed the 49ers he will retire.
Sad news for all of us that remember how dominant Lattimore was at the University of South Carolina. As we all know, multiple ACL injuries derailed the running back\'s career before it even got started. The former fourth round pick reportedly plans on helping others going through chronic injuries recover and he hopes to give them inspiration.
Marcus Lattimore is expected to retire due to knee issues.
Lattimore\'s promising career is over before it started. He had two major knee injuries in college and was never able to recover. This is sad news, and we wish Lattimore the best going forward.
After experiencing knee soreness in two practices last week, Marcus Lattimore was considering whether to continue comeback attempt.
Some soreness is to be expected with all that Lattimore has gone through with his knee. Lattimore won\'t be much of a fantasy impact for this season at least.
49ers RB Marcus Lattimore's status is "up in the air" after reporting soreness in his knee.
Lattimore has yet to play a game in his career after suffering a terrible knee injury in college which had him placed on IR after being drafted by the 49ers to rehab. He was cleared to practice for the first time this season a few days ago and activated off the short term IR. The 49ers now have 21 days to add Lattimore to their 53-man roster or lose him for the remainder of the season.
