Asiata agreed to a one-year deal with the Lions on Friday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Matt Asiata is officially active for Week 15.
Asiata is currently nursing an ankle injury but he is active and will play today against the Colts. The Vikings will have all three of their running backs active today as Adrian Peterson is returning to the lineup and he will face competition for carries from Asiata and Jerick McKinnon.
Matt Asiata (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday.
He got the bulk of the goal line work a week ago against Jacksonville and figures to see the same role once again in Week 15 against Indy. He doesn't do much in terms of yardage and needs scores to be relevant in fantasy leagues. If he can get a score or two he'd be worth a flex play but that's the best he offers.

There should be no questions then. Jerick McKinnon will remain the main back, while Asiata will maintain his goal line duties. This all could change however if Adrian Peterson manages to return before the season comes to an end.
