49ers have re-signed RB Alfonso Smith.

The 27-year old running back will return to the team he spent most of training camp with this summer. He will serve as the team\'s third option behind Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde, so it\'s doubtful that he sees much in the way of touches unless there\'s an injury in play somewhere.
