William Hayes
Player News
William Hayes (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Hayes serves as an adequate front-side edge rusher in this Rams defense, however he is not the prolific pass rusher that you would expect. His absence will be felt on Sunday if he doesn't suit up, however his talent is not something that the Rams cannot overcome.
William Hayes was carted off the field against the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Hayes was injured on a chipping penalty and limped off to the sideline. His return is listed as Questionable, but whenever a player needs to be carted off the field it's usually a bad sign. Don't expect Hayes to return to the game.
Rams are closing in on a deal to keep DE William Hayes.
Hayes has been a key part to the Rams stout front seven since going to St. Louis (now L.A.) in 2012. Though he is 31, he still produced 53 total tackles with 5.5 sacks a season ago and will now continue to anchor the d-line for the transport Rams.
William Hayes was fined $10,000 for throwing a punch during the brawl and getting ejected.
For $10K, we hope the punch was worth it. of course, what idiot punches a guy wearing a helmet. Maybe the league should let him keep his money and have the moron pay his own medical bills.
