Will Tye
Player News
Tye was released by the Eagles on Saturday.
Tye saw significant action for the Giants in 2015 and 2016, but he played in just three games in 2017 and never appeared on an active roster last season. He's now a free agent and can sign with any team.
Will Tye was on the field for 78 percent of the Giants offensive snaps Week 11.
Tye has emerged once again as the clear top tight end for the Giants. He caught just 2-of-5 targets for 12 yards in Week 11, but hauled in his first touchdown of the season. Tye has been targeted a combined 20 times over the last three games, making him worth a flyer in deeper fantasy formats.
Giants have re-signed TE Will Tye.
One of the biggest, if not the biggest surprise of the Giants 2015 season was Will Tye. The TE out of Stony Brook didn't begin the season as the team's starter, but by years end he was one of Eli Manning's favorite targets. He caught 42 passes for 464 yards and three touchdowns. He could be a very valuable fantasy asset next season as a late round draft-pick.
Will Tye caught five passes on eight targets for 67 yards and one touchdown during the Giants 35-30 loss to the Eagles.
It is a good thing to be compared to Antonio Gates. Tye emerged with a strong performance after replacing the injured Larry Donnell and finished the season with 42 catches for 464 yards and three TD's. He figures to be a big part of the Giants offense next year and will be a viable fantasy option.
