NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Cardinals G Will Hernandez (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 5’s win over the 49ers.
Hernandez will enter free agency after the season, so this is an untimely injury for him. Trystan Colon-Castillo was given starters reps with Hernandez out and will likely be the first man up as they try to replace Hernandez.
Cardinals placed RG Will Hernandez (chest) on injured reserve.
Wyatt Teller was claimed off waivers in a corresponding move. Hernandez picked up the injury against the Seahawks in Week 9. He will miss at least the next four games. This is a blow to an offensive line that has already struggled to protect a now-hobbled Kyler Murray (hamstring).
Cardinals RG Will Hernandez was forced from Arizona's Week 9 game against the Seahawks with a chest injury.
Hernandez was announced as questionable in the first half but never returned. Sixth-round rookie Lecitus Smith finished the game in Hernandez's place. Free agent addition Hernandez has been a liability on Kyler Murray's right side.
Cardinals signed OL Will Hernandez, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year contract.
Arizona likely found its starting right guard in Hernandez, 26, a 2018 second-round draft pick by the Giants who started 56 games over four years in New York. Hernandez is a far better run blocker than pass blocker. He'll join a Cardinals offensive line graded by PFF as the NFL's 16th best pass-blocking unit in 2021.
