Titans signed S Walt Aikens, formerly of the Dolphins.
The 29-year-old spent all six of his previous seasons in Miami, appearing in 93 games and making four starts. Aikens is being brought aboard for his special teams play and deep-reserve status as a dime back.
Aikens is questionable to return to Sunday's tilt against the Patriots due to an ankle injury, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
It's not clear how Aikens sustained the injury, but he was forced to leave Sunday's contest in the fourth quarter. If he's unable to retake the field, Aikens will finish the 2019 season with 22 tackles (15 solo) and one defended pass across 15 contests.
Coach Brian Flores said Aikens didn't travel with the team for Sunday's game against the Giants due to a violation of team ruled, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
It's unsettled whether this issue will keep Aikens out of Week 16's game against the Bengals as well. Aikens mainly works on special teams, so his absence didn't shake up the defensive dynamic.
Aikens didn't travel with the team for Sunday's game against the Giants, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Aikens has played in all 13 games this season but won't be available for Sunday's game in New York. The 28-year-old has played only 13 offensive snaps since the Week 5 bye, so his absence should only impact Miami's special teams.
