Dolphins placed LB Tyson Bowser on injured reserve.
Bowser is dealing with a knee injury, and the 29-year-old linebacker will miss at least four weeks with the issue. The linebacker will have a chance to return just before the end of the regular season as a rotational piece for their defense.
Dolphins signed LB Tyus Bowser, formerly of the Seahawks.
With Jaelan Phillips (knee) out for the season, the Dolphins claimed Bowser off the Seahawks’ practice squad, adding him to their 53-man roster. Bowser is a seven-year veteran of the league who has tallied 19.5 sacks and 22 TFLs in his career. He’ll likely start off as a situational pass rusher for the Dolphins, and could be active as early as Week 5.
Seahawks signed LB Tyus Bowser, formerly of the Ravens.
Bowser worked out for the Titans, Colts, and Cowboys before eventually joining the Seahawks. From a scheme standpoint, the Seahawks always felt like the obvious landing spot for Bowser once he started taking his visits. He spent two seasons in Baltimore with current Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald and should have no trouble getting acclimated to the defense in Seattle. Bowser will start on the practice squad but could be elevated anytime.
NFL Insider Adam Caplan reports free agent LB Tyus Bowser is expected to meet with the Seahawks.
Bowser has met with the Colts, Cowboys, and Titans over the last few days and is now scheduled to stop in Seattle. The veteran linebacker was let go by the Ravens earlier this offseason after missing all of 2023 with a knee injury but is now hoping to land on a roster before the start of the season. For his career, Bowser has totaled 19.5 sacks in 89 career games and had seven sacks in 2021. Wherever he lands, Bowser will most likely be used as a situational pass rusher with a chance to earn a bigger role based on how things go.
