Pipkins left with the oblique injury in the second half and was listed as questionable to return. He did so in the fourth quarter. Pipkins started at right tackle in place of Joe Alt, who himself was moved to left tackle in place of Rashawn Slater.

Pipkins had his midsection wrapped at halftime and then aggravated the injury in the second half. He road the cart to the locker room for x-rays and returned to the sideline with a questionable designation. He was starting at right tackle after the Chargers made Rashawn Slater inactive and moved Joe Alt to the left side for this game. If Slater is back for the Wild Card Round, Pipkins’ injury will not be a major concern for the Chargers.

Backup Jamaree Salyer has replaced Pipkins in the lineup. Pipkins’ injury has yet to be disclosed. The Chargers’ offensive line was finally returning to full health following the Week 5 bye. Hopefully, Salyer can return to play.

We don't really understand this one on the surface. The Chargers are projected to have to cut a lot of salary to get under the cap in 2023, and Pipkins has had a fairly uninspiring career to this point, as he's either been hurt or underwhelming. 2022 was the first season where Pipkins played more than 600 offensive snaps, and his PFF grade was merely 59.8 this past season. Popper posits that the team will move Jamaree Salyer inside and release Matt Feiler to free up $6.5 million in cap space. We'd probably prefer Salyer at right tackle.
