Dolphins re-signed DT Trent Harris to a one-year, $585,000 contract.
Harris was an exclusive rights free agent. He was claimed off waivers from the Patriots at final cuts last season. A second-year UDFA out of Miami, Harris made three starts across 11 appearances in 2019, notching 1.5 sacks.
Harris recorded 22 tackles (16 solo), 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 11 regular-season contests in 2019.
Harris played a reserve role in Miami's linebacker corps for the majority of the 2019 campaign. His only start came Week 17 against New England. As an exclusive rights free agent, the Dolphins could realistically opt to bring Harris back for the 2020 season.
Harris (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's divisional tilt against the Jets, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Harris has missed three straight games as a healthy scratch. The depth linebacker and special-teams contributor's next chance to suit up will come Week 15 against the Giants.
Harris (foot) will play in Monday's game against the Steelers.
Harris elevated to a full-speed practice Saturday and is all clear going forward. He's the main reserve outside linebacker for this prime-time matchup, so he's set to fill a respectable role yet again.
