Tracy Porter
Player News
Porter announced his retirement Friday, Luke Johnson of NOLA.com reports.
Porter last played for the Bears in 2016, but he's best known for his pick-six that essentially clinched a win for the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV against the Colts. His career finished with 370 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 13 interceptions and 72 pass breakups.
Tracy Porter has limped off the field in the fourth quarter Monday night.
The Bears have finally put together a complete game, so hopefully they don't have to lose Porter for an extended period of time. The front seven have had an excellent game and believe it or not, there can be a lot to like moving forward for a slow starting Chicago team. Porter is questionable to return to this game.
Tracy Porter (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's game.
He's been limited at practice, but he's been playing through injury all season so it would be a bit of a surprise if he missed this week. He's played 91% of defensive snaps this season and is the only Bears defensive back of their top five who has more than two years of NFL experience. He would be sorely missed if he can't suit up for the “prime time” matchup.
Tracy Porter has been ruled out for the remainder of the Bears preseason game with a concussion.
After leaving Saturdays' preseason game against the Chiefs, Bears Tracy Porter went immediately to be evaluated for a concussion. He seemed to experience one as he collided with a teammates leg during one of the plays. Porter who's suffered concussions in both 2012 and 2013 hasn't had any recorded in the last few years. If this turns out to be something he needs to recover from slowly, this could spell trouble for the Bears already thinned secondary.
