The Lions are good to go at the RB position after drafting D'Andre Swift in the second round. Swift possesses the same sort of theoretical high-end three-down ability as Kerryon Johnson. He'll likely compete with Kerryon for the starting job from day one, while Bo Scarbrough and Ty Johnson also face newfound competition in the form of Huntley. Expect an annoying multi-back committee that likely won't lead to much consistent fantasy production unless one or more of the participants goes down with an injury. Perhaps Carson can find another team to compete for a backup role on.

Carson spent a few weeks in Detroit in the middle of the season, but he went down with a hamstring injury, landed on injured reserve and was subsequently released in early November. The 27-year-old finished 2019 with 18 carries for 48 yards and four receptions for 18 yards in three games between the Packers and Lions.

There has been no report that Carson reached a deal with the club as of yet, but at least he is seemingly healthy. The 27-year-old has seen time on both the Packers' and Lions' active rosters this season.

Carson got an unexpected start Week 8 against the Giants, taking 12 carries for 34 yards in a 31-26 victory. He then was listed on the Week 9 injury report, ultimately being sent to IR last Saturday. Carson could draw some interest as a back-of-roster depth option if/when he gets healthy. Meanwhile, the Lions have Ty Johnson, J.D. McKissic and Paul Perkins in their backfield.
