Tevin Jones

Jones signed to the Cowboys' practice squad in mid-December and will now get an opportunity to remain with the team through offseason workouts. He is currently one of ten wideouts on the roster.

Jones was waived by the Steelers on Monday, and, after clearing, he found a practice-squad role with a playoff contender. The Cowboys have six healthy wideouts on their active roster, but the depth Jones adds is important since Amari Cooper has dealt with recurring injuries this season.

Jones made a key recovery on Diontae Johnson's fumble in Sunday's loss to the Bills, but the 26-year-old Jones also dropped two passes. As a result, the Steelers promoted Amara Darboh from the practice squad and let Jones go. If Jones clears waivers, he'll likely land on the practice roster.

Injuries to JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) and Diontae Johnson (concussion) created an opportunity for Jones to make his professional debut. He was targeted four times and could see more action if Smith-Schuster or Johnson are unable to clear the league's concussion protocol. Fortunately for fantasy owners Pittsburgh has 10 days until playing Cincinnati in Week 12.
