Terrell Suggs
Player News
Suggs made four assisted tackles across three playoff appearances with the Chiefs. He notched 40 tackles (24 solo), 6.5 sacks and four fumbles (one of which he recovered) in 15 combined regular-season games with the Chiefs and Cardinals.
Suggs spent the first 14 weeks of the 2019 regular season in Arizona, but he came to a mutual agreement to part ways with the team in the interest of making a postseason run. The veteran pass rusher got his wish in Kansas City, where he quickly carved out a rotational role and contributed to the team's Super Bowl victory over San Francisco. It remains to be seen whether the 37-year-old, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, intends to continue his storied NFL career.
Suggs will report to Kansas City, Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports reports.
It was reported by Adam Schefter that the veteran linebacker would not be interested in reporting to any team besides the Ravens. However, Suggs has now agreed to head to Kansas City, who could certainly use his help with Alex Okafor (pectoral) out for the season.
The Chiefs claimed Suggs off waivers from the Cardinals on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
After Suggs was waived by the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Suggs would "strongly consider" not reporting to any team but the Ravens, who he spent 16 seasons with. Whether Suggs reports remains to be seen, but it's a wise pickup by Kansas City. Chiefs defensive end Alex Okafor (pectoral) is out for the season, so Suggs would provide a valuable edge rush -- 5.5 sacks over 13 games this year -- while keeping him from a fellow AFC contender.
The Cardinals waived Suggs (back) on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Suggs and the Cardinals came to a mutual agreement to part ways, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. The veteran linebacker was dealing with a back injury during practices, but the fact that he wasn't waived with an injury tag suggests that he's back to full health. Suggs will now be subject to league waivers, and he should have little issue drawing interest from another club. Across 13 games with the Cardinals this season, the 37-year-old recorded 37 tackles (23 solo), 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
