The move comes after Jamal Adams (torn quad) was lost to season-ending injured reserve. A journeyman, Tabor made one start across six appearances for the 2021 Bears. 

The ex-Lions made six appearances in Chicago last season after earning zero regular season caps in 2019-20. Although he is a former second-rounder, Tabor is a pure end-of-roster flier, one who will have to work hard to crack the 53-man roster, even in Atlanta. 

It was with a non-football injury designation. The No. 53 overall pick of the 2017 draft by the Lions, Tabor was among Detroit's final cuts last summer before spending the year on the Niners' practice squad. Tabor has good length at 6'1/199 but tested extremely poorly from an athletic standpoint when he came out of Florida. Now 24, he'll look for his third team.

Tabor was waived by the Lions before roster cutdowns after missing all of the preseason with a leg injury. Now back to full health, the 2017 second-round pick will look to impress on the 49ers' practice squad.
