Raiders signed DE Tashawn Bower, formerly of the Vikings.
Bower has bounced between the Vikings and Patriots through four NFL seasons, appearing in 20 career games and notching two sacks. He has ties to the new Josh McDaniels-led coaching staff from their paths crossing in New England.
Bower (Achilles) tried out for the Colts on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Bower was waived off the reserve/non-football injury list by the Vikings on Oct. 15 while dealing with an Achilles issue. The 24-year-old's audition in Indianapolis is indicative that he's back to full health.
Bower (Achilles) was waived off the reserve/non-football injury list by the Vikings on Tuesday.
Bower sustained the Achilles injury over the summer while working out away from the team and has been on the NFI list since the start of the season. It's unclear where the 24-year-old is currently at in his recovery.
The Vikings placed Bower (Achilles) on the reserve/non-football injury list to start the season, per the league's official transactions report.
Bower will not be eligible to contribute until at least Week 6 of the regular season. The reserve defensive end's absence isn't likely to have a large impact on Minnesota's defense.
