Jets signed LB Taiwan Jones Wednesday.
In May 2015, Jones was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the 2015 NFL Draft. He did make the active roster late last season but never saw the field. He was released by the Jets just before the start of the 2016 season. He'll provide depth to their injury plagued line-backing core.
Jets have released ILB Taiwan Jones.
Jones was coming off an excellent performance in Thursday's final preseason game. It was not enough to save his roster spot, though, as both he and WR Jeremy Ross were cut.
Jets promoted Taiwan Jones from the practice squad.
With an open spot on the roster due to WR Devin Smith being placed on the injured reserve, the Jets have promoted Taiwan Jones. Jones is a linebacker and will provide depth along with special teams help to the Jets versus Dallas on Saturday night.
