Saints signed DE Taco Charlton, formerly of the Steelers.
Charlton, now 27, was the No. 28 overall pick in the 2017 draft by the Cowboys but lasted two years in Dallas and is now joining his fifth team in five years. In 11 games for Pittsburgh last season, Charlton registered a mere half-sack on 216 snaps. He has 11.5 career sacks spanning 55 games. Charlton is a flier for the New Orleans defense.
Chiefs re-signed DL Taco Charlton to a one-year contract.
Charlton flashed at times in 2020, recording two sacks and four quarterback hits in a rotational role before going down with a season-ending leg injury in Week 8. The 28th overall pick in the 2017 draft by the Cowboys, Charlton will rejoin a KC defense graded by Pro Football Focus as the 10th worst pass rushing unit in 2020.
Chiefs signed DE Taco Charlton, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
Charlton has been waived by both the Cowboys and Dolphins in the last calendar year and can't be counted on to make the 53-man roster. This could be his very last chance to stick around the league even though he has a first-round pedigree. Through three NFL seasons, Charlton has 9.0 sacks and 11.0 TFLs.
Dolphins waived DE Taco Charlton.
Charlton was the 28th overall pick in the 2017 draft by the Cowboys but was cut last offseason before latching on with the Dolphins. He played just 36% of the defensive snaps but was able to contribute five sacks to Miami's woeful pass rush. However, Charlton was a healthy scratch over the final month of the season and will now be looking for his third team in a calendar year. He's still just 25 years old.
