Player News
Cravens was cut by the Broncos on Friday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Cravens was competing for a reserve or rotational role in Denver's secondary after finishing the 2018 season as a healthy scratch. The 2016 second-round pick will look to earn another chance elsewhere in the league.
Cravens (illness) had one tackle in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.
Cravens missed the Broncos' third preseason contest due to an illness, but he returned to start Saturday and played 25 snaps. The 24-year-old finished last season as a healthy scratch for the final three weeks and ended up playing only five games.
Cravens missed Thursday's practice session due to illness, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
The specifics of Cravens' illness are unclear, but head coach Vic Fangio said the safety would likely be sidelined Friday as well. Trey Marshall and Jamal Carter could pick up some extra reps with Cravens out.
Cravens (knee) is hopeful to return to the field in two months, Zac Stevens of BSN Denver reports.
Cravens was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week but it doesn't appear that safety-linebacker hybrid's season is over quite yet. He will have to sit out at least eight games, but then will be eligible to return to the active roster. Look for more updates to come as he continues his knee treatment.
