Stacy McGee
Player News
McGee was signed by the Panthers on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
McGee amassed 116 tackles (75 solo) and four sacks throughout his first six years in the NFL, spending four seasons with the Raiders and two in Washington before being released by the Redskins in March. He'll provide depth at nose tackle for the Panthers with veteran Dontari Poe headed for surgery on his torn quadriceps.
McGee signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the Redskins on Thursday, MIke Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Stacy McGee (ankle) will not play in Week 8.
He did not practice at all this week, so this is not a surprise revelation. He went down with an ankle injury against the Jaguars after seeing just seven snaps on defense. Darius Latham will see additional action again this week with McGee out.
Stacy McGee has been taken off the PUP list and is participating in Friday's practice.
There was never any word as to the nature of McGee's injury, but obviously the extent wasn't that great as he is already back on the practice field. He is expected to be a big part of the Raiders defensive line, so you can be assured that they didn't rush him in any way. He should be just fine moving forward.
