Sean Smith
Player News
Sean Smith underwent surgery on his injured shoulder.
The Raiders starting right cornerback played through the shoulder issue at the end of the season, but it was determined that he would not recover without surgery. He is not expected to miss any offseason activities with the team, and should be ready to go full tilt when the season opens.
Sean Smith (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday.
Smith was close to playing on Week 9 but was inactive ultimately. Following the bye week in Week 10, Smith has now come back to practice with a couple of sessions before Week 11. He will be a boost in the back of the Raiders secondary for the stretch run of the season.
Sean Smith (shoulder) won't play against the Broncos on Sunday.
Smith has been ruled out for tonight's game with a shoulder injury he suffered in last week's game. The Raiders feel this should be the only game Smith is forced to miss. He should be able to return after Oakland's bye week for their Monday Night game against Houston on November 21st.
Sean Smith (shoulder) is considered very questionable for Week 9.
Smith ended up leaving the Raiders Week 8 win over the Bucs with a shoulder injury and it appears as though he is "very questionable" for today's game which means that he most likely will be a game-time decision. Smith is one of the two starting cornerbacks for the Raiders, and he's a very talented player, so if he's unable to play today that will surely give a big boost to the Broncos wide receiving corps. If Smith can't go today, T.J. Carrie or D.J. Hayden would most likely draw the start in his place.
