Russell Okung

Okung is willing to skip training camp as he waits out teams. The 32-year-old was limited to seven games with a calf injury in his only season with the Panthers. The Chiefs “checked in” on Okung in March and he’s been linked to the Steelers. Okung, who’s fully healthy, could see his market heat up if a team loses a tackle in camp.

It's the first known interest in Okung, who has yet to take a free agent visit. Okung was limited to seven games with a calf injury last year, but he played effectively when healthy, allowing just 13 pressures on 260 pass-blocking snaps. The 32-year-old seems likely to settle for another one-year deal this offseason.

Trent Scott will start in Okung's place, as the former undrafted free agent is clearly above 2019 second-round pick Greg Little on the depth chart. You already knew RB Christian McCaffrey was ruled out earlier this week. The Panthers also named QB Will Grier, DB Natrell Jamerson, OT Aaron Monteiro, G Dennis Daley and DE Austin Larkin as inactive against the Packers.

It's the seventh missed game of the season for Okung. The Panther are also without OT Greg Little (ankle, IR).  Trent Scott will start at left tackle for Okung. The rest of Carolina's inactives are QB Will Grier, RB Christian McCaffrey, DB Natrell Jamerson, OT Aaron Monteiro, OG Dennis Daley, and DE Austin Larkin.
