Rontez Miles
Player News
Miles (neck/hip) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Miles picked up the neck and hip injuries Week 8 and didn't play in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, and he'll now miss the rest of the season. The special teams captain will finish 2019 with seven total tackles in seven games.
Miles (neck/hip) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Miles has not played a snap on defense in either of the last two weeks as his main role is on special teams. He will miss his first game of the year.
Jets signed S Rontez Miles to the active roster.
With Calvin Pryor out for Sunday, the Jets bumped Miles up to the active roster to provide some depth in the secondary. The team is likely to go with Dion Bailey as the starting free safety but will now have Miles, Darrin Walls and Marcus Williams to provide support.
Jets signed Rontez Miles to the practice squad.
His only hope on the 53-man roster was as a special teams player, but he didn't get the job done. He will work his butt off on the practice squad in order to get the call back up, but he will likely have to wait for an injury in the secondary.
