Player News
The Bills released Thomas (knee) from IR with an injury settlement Tuesday, per the league's official transactions log.
Thomas was a long shot to make Buffalo's 53-man roster even before being injured. The fifth-year pro is free to search for a role elsewhere in the league when back to full health.
Buffalo has placed Thomas (knee) on its injured reserve list, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Thomas had been nursing a knee injury that forced him to miss practice time, and finally was forced to make the move to IR. He was viewed as a longshot to make the roster, so his absence shouldn't be a huge loss to the Bills' defense.
Thomas did not practice Thursday due to a knee injury, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Thomas re-joined the Bills at the tail end of last season after being cut by the team in October. He was already viewed as a longshot to make the final roster, so an injury won't do him any favors.
Thomas (soreness) played in Monday's game against the Browns.
