Robert Golden
Player News
Steelers sign S Robert Golden to a 3-year deal.
Worth $5 million of the life of the deal, it is a good signing for Pittsburgh as it keeps some semblance of safety depth on the roster but also locks up a key special teams contributor. He did see a lot of time at safety in 2015 and may continue that trend depending on what the Steelers decide to do in free agency and the draft. No matte what the roster looks like he likely won't be the starting option at the back of the secondary.
Steelers safety Robert Golden is wearing a protective sleeve on his right knee/calf and limping slightly. His ACL's ok. He will not miss the season.
Golden was injured on August 5 and it appears he avoided significant injury. It is still to be determined how long Golden will be out, but very good news for the Steelers special teams captain that the injury won't cost him the season.
Steelers restricted free agent Robert Golden signed his tender.
Golden is predominately a special teams guy and the Steelers were hoping to retain his services for at least another year. While he'll compete for a role in the secondary, he is likely to stay a special teams player for the most part.
Steelers restricted free-agent S Robert Golden is expected to sign his tender offer.
Golden is a standout special teams guy and we all know how coaches love these types of players. He'll stick around in Pittsburgh for at least another year and try to crack the secondary for a role.
