Rams coach Sean McVay said Rob Havenstein (shoulder) had surgery and is expected to be ready for training camp.
Havenstein was often on the injury report late in the season with the shoulder ailment, but this is the first we’re hearing of a surgery. Entering his age-33 season, the Rams will likely take another stab at replacing Havenstein in this year’s draft. If for whatever reason he’s lagging behind in camp, Warren McClendon would likely be the next man up at right tackle.
Rams HC Sean McVay said Rob Havenstein will remain with the team next season.
Havenstein appeared in 11 games for the Rams last season due to ankle and shoulder injuries that sidelined him for multiple weeks. Per PFF, the veteran tackle allowed three sacks and 20 pressures while earning a blocking grade of 74.1. He’ll be 33 at the start of next season and is entering the final year of his contract. Havenstein is entering the twilight of his career, but a strong 2025 could be enough for the Rams to retain him on a short-term deal next offseason.
Rams RT Rob Havenstein (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday.
The Rams’ banged-up offensive line cannot catch a break. Havenstein’s Week 17 status is completely unknown at this point but beat reporter Stu Jackson adds “Joe Noteboom would start at RT if Havenstein can’t go.” The likely playoff-bound Rams will need their offensive line intact to make a run.
Rams RT Rob Havenstein (ankle) was removed from the injury report and will play Week 13 against the Saints.
Havenstein’s return is a significant boost for the Rams’ offensive line, though starting LT Alaric Jackson (foot) is questionable after failing to practice all week. Hopefully, Jackson can resume practicing (and playing) for Week 14 if he is unable to go here.
