Bengals DL Renell Wren suffered a "significant" quadriceps injury during practice and could have season-ending surgery.
Wren is seeking a second opinion before deciding on surgery, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. It's yet another setback for the Bengals defense, which won't have free agent signing CB Trae Waynes for much of the 2020 season after he suffered a torn pec. Meanwhile, S Shawn Williams was carted off the practice field on Tuesday. The Cincy defense is one for fantasy footballers to attack this year.
The Bengals announced Friday that Wren (hip) will be placed on injured reserve, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Wren appeared in 11 contests in his rookie season, playing a depth role on Cincinnati's defensive line and compiling eight tackles (four solo). He's nursing a hip injury, per Dragon. The rookie fourth-round pick will set his sights on getting healthy in time for offseason workouts.
