Bears signed EDGE Rasheem Green, formerly of the Texans, to a one-year contract.
Green languished until May in free agency last offseason, and he at least gets in before the draft in 2023. Green had 3.5 sacks for the Texans in 2022 after a 6.5-sack season with Seattle in 2021. He's a depth addition on the edge for the Bears.
Texans signed EDGE Rasheem Green, formerly of the Seahawks.
The contract details are not yet known. Green was drafted by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2018 draft and hit free agency at the end of his rookie deal. He logged 6.5 sacks last season. And turning 25 in May, he could still have another level to his game. He is likely to operate as a rotational pass rusher for the Texans.
Free agent DE Rasheem Green visited the Texans on Monday.
Green has had more than his fair share of visits this offseason, though no team has been willing to sign him yet. He has met with the Texans, Ravens, and Panthers since the start of free agency. Reports have also noted that he has had talks with Seattle this offseason. It's possible that all interested teams are waiting to see how the draft shakes out before adding a veteran pass-rusher. Green logged 6.5 sacks on a career-high in snaps last year.
Free agent DE Rasheem Green visited the Panthers on Wednesday.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Green visited the Ravens in March and is still in contact with Seattle, where he played in 2021. Green logged 6.5 sacks across 16 starts last year. Just a few days from turning 25 years old, the Ravens and Panthers could see him as a player who has yet to reach his ceiling. The former third-round pick should have no problem finding a home as a rotational pass-rusher with some upside.
